Natural ingredients that combine health benefits, high levels of functionality and great taste: these are the core competences of the Japanese ingredient specialist Taiyo. Since its foundation in 1946, Taiyo is a pioneer in the basic research and manufacturing of functional ingredients for the food, beverage, medical food and pharmaceutical industries. The company delivers clinically proven nutritional benefits of green tea antioxidants, stress reducing amino acids, soluble dietary fiber, vitamin and mineral delivery systems, superfruit extracts, emulsifiers, stabilizers and other ingredients. A growing assortment of ingredients with organic certification completes Taiyo’s range.
Naturalness and safe food are a common thread throughout the entire value chain: no chemical substances are used during the cultivation or processing of the natural raw materials, which are, in addition, guaranteed to be GMO-free. Moreover, adulteration of food is a serious global problem. Botanical raw materials for foods and dietary supplements – especially tea and tea extracts – are some of the most adulterated foods in the world. As a Japanese company Taiyo has a very strict quality control and is fully backwards integrated. Taiyo guarantees that all products are 100% pure and 100% free from any adulteration.

Headquartered in Yokkaichi, Japan, and with distribution offices in Asia, North America and Europe, the ingredient specialist has a local presence in key markets. Taiyo’s ingredients are produced in seven production plants in Japan, South Korea, China and India. Every plant has Japanese high-quality standards. The German subsidiary in Gevelsberg is responsible for serving the EMEA region.
